I plan to major in Business Economics. I know brown doesn’t consider SATs as much as other schools do so I thought that that might be a plus for me. I’ll probably apply regular decision. But overall, how does it look?

Don't attach a pic to your app, because boy are you uuuuuuuugly!

I am completely kidding. I'm sure you're very attractive.

HAHAA lol ... it took me a while to get what you were saying.... I should have said "how do my chances look?".

looks good to me, just remember to really sell yourself on your app. elaborate, and really show the adcoms what you're about!

Definitely, thanks for the input, anyone else??

NY and CA are the most competitive states for Brown. But, you certainly stand a reasonable shot.

much appreciated, thanks.

Does anyone know how competitive the business econ major is?

Majors at Brown can't really be described as "competitive."

does anyone know if the applications are viewed by a different admissions committee based on major/program? Example PLME and Business Econ?

the same committee reviews all applications regardless of concentration. the way the committee works is that each adcom member is assigned certain areas/countries/states and they will basically review the applicants in their assigned areas, and then present the applicants to the rest of the committee to decide on acceptance

for PLME, you must first be accepted by the general university adcom, and then your application is passed on to the PLME adcom (that's why it is possible to apply PLME and get into Brown but not PLME)

o I see. Thats good. Now, my interest in brown just began so I am not really sure how it works. Are there different undergraduate colleges within brown as there is with cornell? (ie college of arts and science, college of engineering, etc.)

no, its all one college and undergraduates can get a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Science (Sc.B.), or get a combined AB/ScB (in 5 years)

if you requested a paper app from them they will send it inside a booklet. if you read the booklet it really gives you a much better grasp on how they run things, but for now ask away lol

perfect attendance....lol 8 years so far...i always get sick on vacation!

I am going on my 8th year... isnt it weird how I, too, always get sick on vacation!!
