i took the act plus writing in March and received a 18, I had this score sent to the same colleges that I am when I retake it on September 12th. Deadlines for most colleges im applying to are November 1st, how do I ensure colleges won’t use my 18 act when applying?
(As for - turning in my app early and having the transcript and scores sent in a few days after, because I will be cutting close to the deadline and I don’t think I can wait to see my scores before applying)
how long should it take for colleges to see my second score, would they see it the same time I do?
And if colleges don’t see the scores the same time I do, but the only have my 18 act on file, and I score higher and use those scores, wouldn’t they think im lying?
Your application has a spot where you indicate tests to be taken or ones you’ve not yet rec’d the score.
Your taking the Sept test will be fine for those with Nov 1 deadlines. If you’re unsure, go to each school’s site – testing deadlines are usually pretty plainly posted.
They aren’t going to think you’re lying – they WANT to admit you (and your tuition, of course) – you’ve got to remember that.
@t26e4 Even if it says “list all act tests you took” I am allowed to list as many test scores as I wish, but you think I’d receive the act scores before October 27th? (Even with the added 2 weeks for writing) and colleges would receive them at the same time I do (I am having mine sent electronically, and most of them are big state colleges, so I believe that they don’t use mail anymore). Because right now they only have my March act score on file.
Like I said, the college will tell you the latest test sitting they’re willing to accept. It should be right there on their webpages. Your question isn’t unreasonable or unique. That’s why they take time to answer it plainly
It’s a data dump by the way – it’s simple for the colleges to receive all relevant scores.
