Hey, I'm an incoming freshmen to rose hill this fall and my current major is political science... does anyone know how i can list history as my minor? or who to contact? i don't even know who to ask haha

You don’t need to worry about having an official minor until after you make serious headway into your major coursework. You are generally expected to first begin to tackle a major and then later declare a minor/second major.

For now, declaring a minor will not effect you at all because any time not taken up by the core, if any, would be devoted to your major.

I agree, there is no rush to declare a minor. With all the core classes, having a minor should not impact your first semester freshman schedule at all. In fact, you do not need to declare a major until the end of your sophmore year. I’d wait until you get on campus. Then you can schedule a meeting with your freshman advisor and figure out the best course of action. Good luck at Fordham.

Really, the only reason majors/ minors could even effect you in the next year is in multi-tasking classes. Certain core classes can fill major requirements, so if you list the courses required by your major/ minor, you might be able to get cross over with the core. Officially it really doesn’t matter for a while, and I don’t think there is anywhere to even list minors at this point. Have fun in the fall, and don’t get too stressed over majors and minors and life after college yet!
