I always get bored and stop paying attention during practice test. I start watching tv or playing with my phone. This results in a lower score. Help.

Sit in a space away from the TV and give the phone to a parent or friend.

At least that’s what I do.

Sit in the basement, or somewhere completely boring without any distractions.

Bury your phone (haha jk)…just give it to a parent and don’t let them give it back to you unless you finish. Take a quick 5 minute snack break during the test(like they give you on the real one) and just keep thinking that it will be worth it in the end. Having good practice tests will allow you to do the best on arguably the most important test of your life. Good luck!

Thank you guys so much!

Well, the problem could be all the silence…
Personally, my mind tends to wander if I’m studying in complete silence and seclusion and I have the same problem… usually it takes something vaguely distracting to keep me focussed on what I’m doing.
Music is good ![]()
It sounds absurd but really, if you have headphones on, you’re reminded constantly that you need not focus on the music, but on what you’re doing instead. After a while the music blurs into the background and from then on it’s smooth sailing ^.^
BUT that’s just me o.O

I suggest don’t doing whole tests but do sections at a time. Also check answers after every question so you will strive to do better.

And I would not agree to music. Music really disturbs your mental state of mind, and personally, I get very unfocused. Silence does a great job of keeping you on task.

Tell yourself how important the actual SAT is. If it means something to you, then you should be able to make yourself focus.

Perfect practice makes perfect.

You’re not alone haha. I get bored especially during CR sections, and because I’ve been training myself to do sections faster, I tend to complete sections with at least 5minutes left even after checking once through, and that’s when I get distracted heh.
