<p>Thanks for everyone who has replied. I live in the Silicon Valley next to a very competitive school. Therefore, although my mom’s salary is high, the high standard of living gives her very little money left for my college. She says that after taxes and the costs for our house, she only has 10,000 to 20,000 left, not including other luxuries.</p>
