How do I prepare for a transfer?

13 years old!! WOW! Some people transfer there second year to CAL? I can't wait to go to Berkeley!

I suspect you're not quite correct when you say that community colleges don't have "majors". Assuming Santa Monica College is typical, their website (<a href="http://www.smc.edu/transfer/articulation/%5B/url%5D">http://www.smc.edu/transfer/articulation/</a>) lists 4 "major articulation sheets", including transfer requirements for various majors at 4-year colleges where SMC has transfer arrangements, requirements for AA degrees for various majors, requirements for "career certificates" in various subjects, and requirements for "department certificates" in various subjects.

I suppose you are correct, but depending on many things, you could be taking as few as one class and up to many classes for your transfer. Most of the "many" consist of the "general ed" thing anyway. So, basically, it depends on what you're going to study, where you're coming from, and where you're going to.
