on my psat i got a 77 in math, a 76 in writing, but only a 59 in critical reading. It looks to me like my critical reading score will end up being what will keep me from an ivy league university. I only messed up math due to misreading a question, so if i'm more careful i could definitely make an 800 in on the sat. I'm fairly convinced that with the essay i can get an 800 on writing. Is there any way to get my reading score score to a 720-800 range by the end of this year?

While the PSAT is indicative of your SAT score range it is only a predictor.

Before you draw any major conclusions from the PSAT take a practice College Board SAT under strict SAT time rules. Have a teacher or a mentor read your SAT essay to get an idea of your likely SAT writing score. If no one is available to grade your essay assume a score of “9”.

The SAT practice test on the web and 3 of the SAT practice tests from the “Blue Book” have accurate charts to convert raw scores to final scores. Use this score as an indicator of where you stand.

Once you’re done this you may want to re-post your question on CC.
