<p>i went to a school where i was literally the only minority (asian) in my small graduating class. out of 62 kids, 61 were black, literally. </p>
<p>how do i write a positive essay saying this nicely? </p>
<p>i want to focus on how it opened me to other cultures, bc when i transferred i met my first vietnamese, el salvadorian, and irish friend, which completely blew my mind, esp. after seven years.</p>
<p>what i'm trying to say is that encountering other races for the first time was a pivotal experience.</p>
