I was able to receive a recommendation letter from my coordinator at the hospital I volunteer in. However, she mailed it to me as a physical copy so I have to mail it to other schools myself. My question is: do I just mail it in as it is or do I have to add anything else onto the letter itself (CA ID, Bday, school, etc.)? I know colleges don't really want students to read the letters, so I'm trying to be extra careful with this. Also, I am photocopying several copies of the letter to send to other schools, so is that ok? Thanks in advance.

Yes, you add your ID info and mail it in. It’s OK that you send it – it’s not a big deal.

Would that be on the letter or on the envelope? I was told that schools don’t want us reading the letters, so I think putting it on the letter wouldn’t be such a great idea.

" I was told that schools don’t want us reading the letters"

It’s not that big a deal – especially from a non-teacher. I wouldn’t put anything on an envelope. If anything attach your ID info on a slip stapled to the rec letter.

Great idea! Thanks!
