how do i send my GPA verification form (for cal grant) this year (freshman)?

i'm a freshman right now. in high school i just went to the office and asked them to do that for me. but i don't know how it works here. like, is the school gonna automatically send the form without me requesting it (after i file my FAFSA)? or where do i have to go and ask them to do it?

also, on the cal grant website my GPA is shown as 0.00 (my GPA verification form wasn't delievered and so i didn't get any money for 2008-09), do i have to send my high school GPA again? i heard that they look at your high school GPA if you're a freshman in college.

If you dont mail the Commision your application by the deadline you must apply for the next deadline. The next deadline has an updated form.

1/2 of the California High Schools are submitting GPA's electronically to the Commission in an effort to apply for aid as a COURTESY for their students.
High Schools are not required to, they simply have the resources to.

You should fill out and mail the Cal Grant GPA Verification form on or before the deadlines to insure it's done. Your school has to fill out a portion of this form, so dont wait till the last day.

thanks =). btw, do you know if it's ok if I mail my GPA form before I submit my FAFSA? 'cause I already had my high schoool fill out that portion of the form and so it's ready to be mailed to the commission, but my parents are still working on their income taxes so I can't complete my FAFSA form yet (it should be done sometime this month tho).

Yes, you can mail your GPA in before the FAFSA. Just make sure that both are filed BEFORE the March 2nd deadline. Don't wait until the last minute. They get really backed up in processing so make sure you get a proof of mailing and keep a copy of your GPA form. Once your FAFSA is filed and you receive your Student Aid Report (SAR), set up an online account at California Student Aid Commission and you can check on your Cal Grant status.

I just checked mine, and it says I have a 4.0.

Does it just take the unweighted GPA?

Because I have a 4.36 weighted.
