I moved to the US in 2010 and completed my HS freshmen year in Pakistan. I also took foreign language classes in middle school which can count towards my UC app.

But my main question is how am I gonna send transcripts from Pakistan to colleges as the security issues in Pakistan are pretty bad and my school there is most probably not gonna mail one??

Have you tried yet to get your transcripts from Pakistan? If they do not have an email address, try to call or writer letters to ask if they can please send you “official copies” that you could forward to the colleges – they may or may not be able to do this. There may be some expense, so you may have to send money or something. Also contact the colleges you are applying to and explain that you are trying to get the transcripts, but are concerned about whether you will be able to. Do you have a paper copy of your own? You could offer to send copies of that to the colleges as a substitute if the school does not come through.

Regarding the middle school language work… I doubt you can get any credit at a US college for that unless you took the AP Language exam. Although most colleges allow you to take a language placement test once you get to college to see where you fit in if you are going to take more classes in that language. Maybe the UC system has something special, though. Can you explain in a comment section of the application about whatever you took?

Thanks a lot for your reply!

I have digital copies of my transcripts from Pakistan. My counselor told me that my school from Pakistan has to send official copies through mail to the colleges I am applying to. But this just seems impossible since the administration of that school changed after I moved here. Do you think colleges are gonna accept the copies I have with myself?

And regarding the language, I was talking about A-G language credits not college credits.

You need to take this issue up with each of the colleges and universities that you are applying to. Some may be willing to accept copies that you provide. However, others will require that the original high school provide formal documentation. For advice on getting that sort of paperwork out of Pakistan, contact the office of EducationUSA that is closest to the city where you were attending high school. They are the real experts on this issue. [EducationUSA | Find an Advising Center](http://www.educationusa.info/Pakistan)
