How do I express my passion for learning to colleges? I really like to learn in and outside of school but I'm not sure how to express this through my applications.

For one, I'm taking the most demanding courses at my high school (many AP's) and am involved with several clubs as well as heavily involved with music (orchestra). I think that learning is a lifetime thing and just basically see the Ivies as a great place to cultivate that passion because of the abundance of opportunities on campus, and, especially to be surrounded by peers who have the same dedication for education as I, etc. Also, I really enjoy doing academic-related things and reading (classic books) but I just really don't know how to emphasis my love, motivation, and desire for learning. Although I'm ranked like 3rd in my class so I don't have the best grades out there, I feel that I would be so much more suited for an environment like Yale or other Ivies than the people who rank 1st but only do it for straight A's or their parents, etc, and not really for their own personal happiness of achieving excellence.

So, my question is, how do I clearly show I'm suited for a school because of my passion for learning rather than just blend in with all the other students who have very good grades but could care less about being motivated and interested in the material itself that they're learning about?
