Welcome to College Confidential!

Based upon your written English, I’m assuming you are an international applicant and that English is a second language for you. Is that correct?

If so, before you apply to any US college, including Harvard, you need to dramatically improve your writing skills. Here, take a look at this site and see how much of it you know how to do: http://writingcenter.fas.harvard.edu/pages/strategies-essay-writing.

Most international students must prove their English proficiency by taking the TOEFL: http://www.ets.org/toefl. Although Harvard doesn’t require the TOEFL, Admissions looks closely at an international applicant’s SAT/ACT reading and writing score to determine if you are “English ready.” The average SAT reading score for Harvard students is 745 out of 800. Have you taken the SAT yet? If so, what is your writing score?

In addition, you should thoroughly read this thread at the top of the Harvard forum, as it has many tips on essays, recommendations, writing, activities, and what Harvard looks for in an applicant: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/harvard-university/1420290-chance-threads-please-read-before-posting-one-p1.html

Thats right ,English isnt my native language and i havent taken SAT yet .
Thank you for the information
