How do I stack up? Not sure about my EC's/passion

I know asking for "chances" isn't really a realistic indication of anything, and my essays will probably be the biggest factor in any admissions process. Still, I'm sure it won't hurt to get a few opinions, and this is a great way to kill boredom (yes, I think about colleges in my free time when I'm bored :P). I am planning on majoring in electrical engineering, and I'm looking at top tech schools. So here goes-

Nationality: Indian citizen but living in and applying from Brazil

Colleges: MIT, Caltech, Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, Johns Hopkins (legacy), Rensselaer, Stanford, Upenn, etc.

GPA: 94.4 Unweighted, and 97.3 Weighted (my school just averages the percentages)

IB HL/weighted classes: Math, Physics, Biology, AP Calc AB

Probable IB Predicted Score: 40 (out of 45)

Rank: In top ten out of 106 (school doesn't rank other than just "top ten")

SAT:
M-800
CR-700
W-720
Total-2220

SAT Subjects Tests:
Math II - 800
Physics - 750
Biology E - 660 (going to retake and improve)

ACT: Comes out in a few days...probably better than SAT equivalent

Extras:
Global Issues Network (Community service)
Tutor in school's math help center
Varsity basketball (probably captain as a senior)
Varsity volleyball (probably co-captain as a senior)

Awards:
Rensselaer Medal (top science + math student in my grade)
Honor roll every year
nominated for scholar athlete? lol

Something interesting? : I would consider myself quite international, as I have lived and studied in 5 different countries. I would say it's quite rare to find an Indian citizen who is this international, but I don't know how much of a factor this plays. I speak 5 languages.

Summer: Going to do the SAAST Robotics program this year, for college credit.

I won't be applying for financial aid (does this even make a difference?).

On a side note, my school is a very reputable American school in Brazil. I'm not sure how much this matters, but a lot of students tend to get into top schools and almost all the universities I am interested in visit annually and hold our school in a good light.

I can't really think of anything else. Could anyone shed some light on my chances?

bump??? anyone?

double bump…

You sound like a solid candidate to me. But I’m not an expert, really (don’t know jack about science-kid stuff). And it’s always a crapshoot at the level you’re looking at. Hopkins seems likely, especially because of your legacy and the fact that it’s maybe not as hard to get into as, say, MIT (though Hopkins Engineering is harder to get into than just JHU Arts and Sciences, or so I’ve heard). Renssalaer award makes it more likely for you to get into that school.

You list “I speak 5 languages” as a sort of sidenote. This is not a sidenote! This is unique and difficult to accomplish! Write an essay about it or something; it might be seen as a hook.

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1518288-any-chance-i-can-get-ed-johns-hopkins.html

I’m definitely thinking about writing an essay about something to do with my languages or the countries I’ve lived in. That’s probably the most “interesting” thing I can come up with :

any other opinions?

Hi everyone, I’m an international high school junior , and I have a question about extracurriculars if you could help me, because in my country we don’t use that term very often. Are extracurriculars called only the clubs which you have joined in the school , or may be called other things like playing for an U-17 soccer team or competing on chess tournaments for example ? Thank you in advance

Extracurriculars don’t only have to be in school. All the things you mentioned are considered extracurriculars

Will chance back!!!

New data-

ACT Score: 35 Composite
