I'm a sophomore in high school and I've recently been thinking about how I look to colleges.

Here's some things about me:

Female
Go to a college preparatory high school
I play tenor saxophone in jazz band (both years)
I have played alto saxophone for 6 years, trumpet for 4 years, and tenor saxophone for 2 years - I enjoy music
I'm not very athletic, but I'm considering trying out for the golf team this spring (I've played it as a hobby for 7 years)
I volunteer at a camp for children with diabetes every summer and get about 40 community service hours for that
I will be attending a school trip to Europe over the summer that only 50 people from my school were invited on.
The summers after 6th and 7th grade I attended the John's Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY). I took the SAT for that, and my scores were good enough to get in, but probably aren't reflective of my knowledge at this point.

My classes last year (freshman year) were:
Honors Ancient History
Honors Geometry
Honors Algebra 2
Honors Literature
Honors Chemistry
Chinese 1
Theology (I go to a Catholic school and have to take it every year)

I got all A's and had a 4.6 GPA (Jazz band was counted as a class, too, and actually brought my GPA down!!!)

My classes this year (Sophmore year) are:
AP World History
Honors Trig/Precalc
Honors American Literature
AP Chemistry
Honors Biology
Honors Chinese 2
Theology

Right now, I have all A's and a B+ in Biology, which I hope to bring up by the end of the quarter.

My dream college has always been Johns Hopkins, but I do realize that it is a hard school to get accepted to. Another school I would love to go to is UCLA.

Am I on the right path to even be a candidate for these schools? I haven't taken the SAT since 7th grade (for the CTY Program), but will be taking the PSAT this month. My strengths are science and math, and I have an interest in music. The bottom line is: Do I look good to colleges right now? If not, how can I improve this? Do I even have a shot at Johns Hopkins or UCLA? Any other schools you'd recommend?
