Retake the ACT or take the SAT.

Help Please!!!

It looks like you're at least in the ballpark for admission, even with the 30 (the Yale average is 30 to 34, I believe). It's really just a numbers game (I mean, only one in 11 or 12 kids gets in), but you do have a shot.

Your list of AP classes seems to be a little short compared to the number of AP classes current admits have said they've taken over the past years and are currently taking senior year. Applying early in no way hurts your chances if Yale happens to be your first choice. I would encourage you to apply SCEA; the most probable outcome is that you'll either be admitted or deferred, in which case you'll have a second chance come RD. Yale doesn't reject people in the SCEA round unless they absolutely have to.

Also, try to pick a few activities in your list of ECs that you're really proud of and that motivate you, then highlight these ECs in your application. During the interview, talk to the interviewer about why you did these ECs and what you got out of the experiences. That way, it won't seem like you lurked around at a whole bunch of clubs just to be able to put them down in your application.

You sound like a very motivated and interesting student. You also show a lot of leadership in your ECs - debate club pres, class pres, founder of young dems, as well as the producing of your t.v. show.
If you take the hardest courses your school offers, I wouldn't worry about the lack of APs. I would work to get your sats in the 750 range for each part, and also keep the grad trend upward. I think you do have a chance. Pick your recommenders very carefully. Make sure they are people who can testify to your enthusiasm and love of learning. The kids who get in from my kids' high school are the ones who stand out in their classes as very motivated, engaged and engaging. Good luck!

The TV thing is a great thing..good luck!

Just retake the ACT so in case you dont get in you wont lament yourself for not retaking it!

Question, I new to the whole college thing, what is SCEA?

single choice early action- not binding like early decision

But, as the name implies, you can only choose one school to apply early to, excluding schools with rolling admission.
