How do I stand/ how much will coach support help?

Ok so here goes. I have wanted to go to Brown since I was little. I feel like it is the school for me. Let me know how you think I stand, please.

GPA: 10.00/11.00

SAT: 2270

Courses: I have taken a combination of the hardest courses available to me/ what I am extremely interested in.

Clubs: I started my own club and have done some pretty incredible things with it, if I do say so myself.

Sports: Four years, 12 Varsity letters -- I love them. I talked to a coach (had a meeting with the head + assistant coach, and they said they would talk to admissions on my behalf -- I am not a blue chip recruit, but they said they would pull strongly for me -- I am wondering how much difference this will make (not football, or basketball) I have won numerous awards for sports. 2 Sport Team Captain.

Essays: Awesome -- everyone that read them said so (A HS english teacher, a college professor, my college counselor -- they told me only to change a few things grammatically/ syntactically)

Recommendations: One Wonderful -- I am sure of it -- I had the teacher all four years
The other should be very good as well -- I had the teacher freshman and senior years -- In the middle, it was my worst class (I got a B), but I think it will reflect well/ cancel some of the negative parts of those grades out.

Out of School: I went to a world championship for an activity I have done my whole life.
I have done copious amounts of medical research, working with doctors.

School Type: An elite NE prep school

My hopeful majors: Biology and Philosophy

I would really, really, really like to go to Brown. Let me know what my chances look like/ what I can do to make my application look better. Also, how much do you think the coach support will help?

If it’s the school I’m thinking of (and Brown’s the #2 college on your school’s 5-year matriculation list) your chances are quite good. Strong grades, strong SATs, strong athletics at a school known for them, plus involvement in an EC that it appears will set you apart from the average “VP of the class, yearbook editor and NHS member” applicant.

As to your position as an athletic recruit, it may depend on how many slots the coaches in your sport(s) have available. The good thing is that even if you’re not high on their lists in terms of performance they may be willing take you to balance out some weaker academic candidates.

Of course no one here can really call the admissions decision at a school like Brown. If you’ve definitely settled on Brown as your #1 would advise applying early (but then I’m sure your college counselor has already told you that!) Good luck.
