How do I start? Where should I apply?

Heyy. Basically, I'm a Senior this year. I still didn't take my SATs but my GPA goes as follows:
Sophomore: 3.8
Junior: 4.0

I currently live in Egypt but I plan on going to University in America. (if I get a proper SAT score, I'll take it for the first time in October) I'd appreciate it if you suggest some Universities (With reasonable prices) that MAY (or may not) offer me a scholarship, I have no idea where to start, and I don't HAVE to get a scholarship but I need acceptance. I know I can go to websites and stuff like that but I seriously feel extremely ignorant because I have NO idea where to start. or what to say. (since I still didn't take my SATs not got my Senior GPA)
ps; I was wondering, is it too early to start applying for Universities/Colleges?

Without knowing your SAT score, it’s hard to give you names of schools. Take a practice test and give your scores from that so folks can get a ballpark figure. Also, what are you interested in?

You can use education USA for a resource. Good idea to take a timed SAT practice test to get an idea. SAT book come with free tests and you can find one online.

Also you have to have a good idea what your parents will pay each year.

You can do some reading and chatting in the international students forum here too.

Yes some applications are starting to open, but it is still early.

@Brownparent @Halfemptypockets My SAT score on practice tests ranges from 1800 (When I first started)-2100 (I got 2290 on a test but it was too easy so I wouldn’t count on that).

@halfemptypockets I’m interested in Biology. Genetics. or anything Biology related, really. I’m not “Wealthy” but I’m okay, so anything that doesn’t cost too much would do.

If you are asking about merit awards…your SAT is needed to give you any suggestions.

Are you also asking about need based aid? If so, this is based primarily on your parents’ incomes and assets.

Are you a U.S citizen?

You may be okay, but what are your parents saying? How much are they okay with paying? $40k per year? More? less?
