My dream has always be a national circuit debater. Honestly, im really emotional about it, however nerdy that sounds. This requires traveling out of city twice or so per month and out of state many times per year. For whatever reason my district (i go to a public school) says i can't go our of state more than once and not out of city more than once. I guess this is a monetary issue. That's understandable, but i'm getting a job this summer to pay for travel. The main problem is that I can't travel independently. My coach will go with me and my parents could also, i dont see what the problem is. this is so stupid!!!! if the purpose of school is to educate, and debate does that better school ever could, and it's my dream to do so, ... why? Nobody else in my district has ever done what i want to do, for any activity.

Has anyone else had similar experiences? If so, what did you do to get around the problem?

Thanks!
