I want to stop receiving notifications for one particular thread, but continue to receive notifications on other threads. Is there a way to stop it for one thread? Like something to click that says, “Stop receiving notifications for this thread.”?

Go to your preferences. There you can select whether you want to be notified in different situations. My guess is you have “Notify me when people comment on my bookmarked discussions” or “Notify me when people comment on discussions I’ve participated in.” set. If it’s bookmarked one then unbookmark it. If it’s participated then uncheck that. Problem is, you it’s all of that type or nothing. You can’t continue to be notified for all those that you have participated in but exclude a specific one.
If you go to the thread, there is a little star to right of the first post. If that star is yellow, touch or click on it to turn it clear.
