I was accepted to 4 out of the 5 that I applied for. I pretty much made up my mind on which ones I'm not going to attend. How should I tell them? Would it be better to call, email, or send them something in the mail? Thanks.

If they admiited you via email - send them an email. If they sent you a nice package in the amil - send them an email. Shame on them for killing trees.

Or try this text: “ME & U=No kthnxbai”

Srsly - I don’t think it matters. If you actually had a relationship at the school - an AdCom or someone - then maybe you fill in more detail.

It is nice of you to take action to notify them. Many students simply do nothing; they accept one offer and do nothing with the rest.

Some schools have a website for admitted students where they can log in and start the process of signing up for a dorm, etc. If they do this they would have sent you info and your password. There should be a place to tell them you aren’t going to attend.

Otherwise, I’d send in a simple letter thanking them for their offer but saying you have decided to enroll elsewhere.

Did they send you a fat envelope when they admitted you? If so, there’s probably a response card in there. You can just complete it and send it back. If not, then you can email the admissions office.

Back in the day, I sent letters. That I typed on my typewriter. (See: [Typewriter - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Typewriter - Wikipedia))

Here is my two cents. Wait until closer to May 1 to reply if it doesn’t make any difference in housing, etc. You never know what might happen in your life (family circumstances change, illness, financial issues, etc.). When you do reply, you can send a nice email thanking the admissions office for your acceptance and letting them know you decided to enroll elsewhere. Always pays to be nice, just in case you want to transfer to those schools in the future if choice #1 doesn’t work out!
