<p>I don’t think that’s a good idea. Congratulations on getting into the program and I’m sorry you’re having difficulties attending, but I think that stating “accepted into XYZ program but didn’t attend” on your resume looks bad, whether or not it was a family/personal issue that prevented you from doing so. It makes you look like you’re not dedicated, and it might be an awkward thing to explain when you’re asked about it in an interview. Unless you’ve got a speech prepared, your best bet is to try to get in next year.</p>
