I just got accepted into the ilr and now I was wondering if, and how it is possible to transfer from ilr into the college of arts and sci before school even starts next fall.

Is there an application I have to fill out or is there some letter I have to write or someone to talk to?

You don't like it because of its NAME? If you want to give it a try, I don't see why you want to know if it is possible to transfer. I don't know if it is possible, but it seems a little weird to me that you applied to it and suddenly realize that you like the CAS more. If it should be possible, the admissions officer will certainly find it weird, too. However, if you really want to do that, I'd call and ask.

I applied to the engineering school, but now I am having second thoughts and maybe want to change schools. I think I would have to wait until after the first year though. If I do this, I will just try to take electives the first year that will transfer from school to school.

Unless you're sure that you absolutely don't want it, you should really at least try it. I think it's normal that you start to have some doubts, it's the same when you marry :P

splintercell obviously applied there because the acceptance rate is much higher. and yes, that thread at michigan says a lot about that little douche.

You can't transfer until the end of your fall semester at which point you will be applying for a spring transfer to whichever college you want to go to.

At least some people have deceny around here to answer questions. If, and this is IF, I do transfer, will I like lose a semester or will I still graduate on time?

Why does it sound like you're using ILR simply as a vehicle to get into Cornell, yet show absolutely no interest in it's curriculum? If true, then I can't believe ILR admissions didn't see through your ulterior motives.

Give ILR a chance before you even THINK about transfering. If you don't like it, then consider an internal transfer. But to already plan to transfer is ridiculous, if not insulting.

There is always hope that you get into one of the other schools you applied to? That way you would not be embarassed by having spent any time in the SUNY ILR school.
