How do I turn him down politely?

Oh, did you guys hear about that Texas governor who was threatening succession or something? I don’t know, it was on the Late Late Show. Not that he’s serious, i’m guessing. Still a crazy thing for such a public figure to say.
It’s so weird to think Texas was its own country once. But I dont’ think they would have a legit reason to secede from the union, nor would most Texans want to (i’m guessing, I don’t know, i’m from NY :))

^ Omehgawd, you watch Craig Feguson?

Stargazerlilies,

That is actually who Ron Paul was defending (but not supporting). Secession isn’t really as absurd as people make it sound. If there is a justifiable reason for secession, it should not be resisted. However, leaving the Union is not in the Texans’ best interests right now, to say the least.

Edit: Yawn ^^… niiiiice :)

haha yeah I love Craig Ferguson!
Texas is just being silly. It’s like a teenager that gets upset at some new family rules and threatens to run away from home to be a badass. Texas needs to settle down and adjust. When Texas gave us Dubya, we were all upset for a while, but we didn’t hold it against them. Now they’re creating a big fuss over nothing. But I would hope Texans are at least somewhat patriotic. To be honest though, I wouldn’t miss Texas as much as say, Maine. It would be a sad day if Maine left the Union :(

Yawn - besides, then Mexico would take it over and it would be Texico! we just can’t have that.

I don’t think he’d care, as he’s into guys (I’m a guy).

You guys are champions at getting threads off-topic :)

/]Paul keeps donation from white supremacist - Ron Paul- msnbc.com

Not to mention that some of his friends that he would place into his cabinet wher eex-KKK Grand Dragons and leaders of Neo-Nazi group. How can anyone honestly support this scumbag? (Ron Paul)

as for the OPs question:

i dont get this whole thing… this is a homeless guy? like an actual real homeless guy? why would you ever want to date him? im not saying hes a bad person, but so what! hes got no money for food or clothes or anything… seriously, if that happened to me, id tell him to ■■■■… stop being so nice… if you dont wanna date him, then say no… if he doesnt believe you about your boyfriend, then just tell him u dont wanna date a homeless guy… or maybe hes just not your type… whatever… its not like you have to be nice to him all the time…

Get out of here with that biased crap. The freakin’ NAACP Chairman, who has known Ron Paul for over 20 years, completely denies the charge that Paul is racist. Not to mention the fact that Ron Paul has never even supported a racist policy. Also not to mention that Ron Paul is a frequent guest on the DL Hughley show. And finally, not to mention he, on numerous occasions, said he did not want support from kkk/white supremacist members.

I have no problem when people are agianst Ron Paul as a politician for policy reasons, but it infuriates me when people like you chose to believe such blatant lies.

Uh… if he is just winking and you don’t like it, that’s simple to ignore. Though if it really bothers you, if he does something odd, just say you don’t feel comfortable as such since your in a relationship/ not in one with him.

I guess I need to watch the news more because I never heard this about Texas.

Ron Paul spoke at my school yesterday and I can say the man is out of his mind. If he ever gets elected we are all screwed. Luckily he can criticize everyone and moan and *****, because he knows he’ll never have to implement his ideas, because he will never get elected president. Hell, without the GOP tag, he wouldn’t even be in the HOR.

Omg, really? What school do you go to?

What did he say that made you think such things?

Did you listen with an open mind, or were you determined to disagree before words came out of his mouth?

What would start such a Ron Paul controversy? Surely these claims didn’t come out of thin air. Ronpaul2012, you’re just as ignorant as I am. Despite who may be right in this argument, I doubt either of us will change our view point.
As far as I’m concerned, Ron Paul is a bigot. I’ll listen to what I want to hear, as will you.

Borb, fortunately, I am not nearly as ignorant as you are.

I absolutely can’t stand people like you. You read a few untrue articles, you don’t bother to validate them, and then you go on message boards, ranting about how Ron Paul is a racist bigot. After someone makes you realize that you are wrong, you retreat in the least respectable manner, rather than showing some courage and admitting your lack of knowledge.

And no, the claims did not come out of thin air. If you had read ANYTHING, you would know that the accusations were a result of a newspaper that wrote, under Paul’s name, racist (to say the least) articles. Ron Paul never wrote them, never saw them, and can not be held responsible for their contents. It was a decade old story that resurfaced conveniently when Paul’s popularity rose.

“As far as I’m concerned, Ron Paul is a bigot. I’ll listen to what I want to hear, as will you.”

No, you are the bigot…

Just say no.

So this thread started out about how to turn a homeless guy down, huh?

Tell him you’re not interested. If he persists, ask him why he isn’t interested in every single man/woman he sees, and if that doesn’t work, threaten to talk to the police.

Also, is this thread serious, or is it a joke? I don’t mean anything against you personally, OP, it just seems so improbable, because “person on CC” and “homeless guy” is one of the most unlikely pairings.

“I’m honest with him, but he just doesn’t believe me.”

He “doesn’t believe you”? That sounds weird and creepy. How do you know this guy? Is he someone you actually know, like a friend or acquaintance, or just some random homeless guy with a crush on you?

Tell him “I’m not interested” politely. If he persists, stop being polite. “I told you I’m not interested, leave me the hell alone!” If he still persists, he is a stalker; call the police.

Libertarianism is, in my opinion, the best hope for the future of America.

I go to Wake Forest.

He was very critical of President Obama and social programs, which I am very supportive of. President Obama has been president for three months, give him some time. Furthermore he scoffed at ideas such as nationalized healthcare and I think that universal healthcare is the moral duty of our government. I just am an opponent of laissez-faire capitalism. He was also talking about how the government shouldn’t tell us what to put/not put in our bodies, but he is just being very naive. Drugs can be very destructive.

I always have an open mind when I hear a speaker. I just didn’t like what Ron Paul had to say. The aforementioned things I said, were just off the top of my head. I just don’t think he really fights for “liberty.” The constitution is somewhat of an antiquated document, and should be used as guidelines rather than be taken literally.
