I know this comes up a lot but I'm really short on time and today had a mathematics state meet in which I had a very good performance. I have this strong urge to send it in. I've heard that I could send them an e-mail, but what e-mail would I use?

I think it’s a bit late sorry. By this time they’ve made their decisions and are just waiting to distribute them.

Save it for if you get waitlisted.

At this stage, the adcoms have already read all the applications, but are still making few decisions. What I would suggest is just send the update.

If your application is still in the running, the update will definitely help your case.

If you are already accepted, it won’t hurt you.

If you are already denied, they may review your application again.

Just try it out once, who knows it may work it out.

whoever said that they made the decisions already is so lying. i know a few adcoms and theyll still be making decisions all day for at least the next week (although of course many decisions have been already rendered).

this kind of situation is always tough, i would save it if you get waitlisted, unless this competition is so big that it could get you from being rejected to being admitted which is pretty unlikely (maybe like if you made USAMO yesterday)

So one should update it or not?

Current Harvard students please answer…

I’d love to update them, but I don’t know what e-mail to use to send the information to them.

^^I doubt any current students would know the answer either

[Harvard College Admissions § Contact Admissions: Freshman/File Room](http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/contact/fileroom.html)

Hope this helps!

BTW what update do you have?

It doesn’t hurt to try. I think I did see somewhere that there was a date that was the last day they would accept updates, but if that’s true, there’s no harm in sending it in anyways, because they will respond regardless. If you want to go there, I’d say do it! Worst case, it’s not like they’d more your application from Acceptance -> Waitlist or Waitlist -> Rejection because you sent in an update, so you have nothing to lose :)!

I definitely want to update every college I applied to, but my question still remains, what e-mail do I use? I used the link provided above to contact Harvard, but I don’t know what to use for Cornell, Brown, Yale, Dartmouth, and Stanford. Would it just be their admissions office e-mail? I’m a tad panicky because the deadline is so soon, but I know this would add a lot more emphasis into my application. I sent an e-mail to the Brown admissions office, but I got an automatic reply saying they can’t personally reply to all e-mail and whatnot, but I don’t know if that means they’ll take the chance to actually reply :/. If someone could please offer me an answer I would extremely appreciate it :).

Call the admissions offices. Although it can be kind of nerve racking, it is definitely the right decision. If someone you talk to cannot update your application directly, they will definitely be able to tell you how to do so.

Alright, thank you zaneburton. I’ll be sure to call all of them tomorrow when they’re open.

Not a problem! Just remember that the admissions offices are there to admit you, not to deny you. They love hearing about all of the things that you have accomplished.
