I would like to withhold an AP score when I apply. How do I do this?

AP scores are self reported on common app. Most colleges (including Yale) want official scores sent only if you enroll and want to get AP credit. So I presume you can report only the ones you want them to see on the common app. I know Yale wants all SAT or ACT scores, but I don’t believe they say all AP scores.

[Must I submit an official report for Advanced Placement (AP) test results? | Yale College Admissions](http://admissions.yale.edu/faq/must-i-submit-official-report-advanced-placement-ap-test-results)

“No. You may self-report AP scores in the spaces provided on the Common Application or on the Yale Supplement. Only students who ultimately enroll at Yale and choose to apply for acceleration credit will need to submit an official score report.”

BTW: Depending upon your high school, your AP scores may, or may not, appear on your offical transcript.

The posters are correct. AP scores are self reported. The senior year scores are not even sent to you until July. The student does not send them to his/her selected school until then. If the AP scores are on your HS transcript, (probably not common) you could probably request they be removed.

You may want to consider though, the AP class will be on your transcript so they will know you took the AP class. You may want to think about not reporting.
