One question you should ask yourself is what job do you want to land, and tailor your resume accordingly, listing the skills gained out of any extracurricular activities you've done, especially if you dont have any job experience yet.

For example, if you are a good cheerleader then focus on your motivational skills when applying for a supervisory position; your measurements (with photo attached:)) if applying for a modeling agency, or your energy drive when applying for pretty much anything;

If you've had internships or are already working on your senior capstone, don't forget to mention those too - they are the closer thing to real job experience you have and a lot of people forget that.

i didn't even write a resume. :(

it's hard... i'm trying to focus on a no. of things like quzzes and elocutions won... but everything seems a mess

are you writing for college application? (because I didn't)

yeah........

is not necessary but u can if loads of ecs are there

Also. dont fret. it has to be a mess in the beginning . coz that is what makes it so beautiful in the final outcome....

U will do fine.seems from ur other posts that u are taking a alot of tension.... dont chillax

chillax=> cool word btw........
yeah i've l've lotsa ecs... will manage them tomorrow

Mine was three pages long when I applied to Williams last year. Don't worry bout it as long as you're sure its all high-quality. If it's fluff, remove it.

i have a two-page resume but didn't submit it for ED. just included my best ones on the app itself.

i don' wanna leave anyhting for my ed... so trying on everyhting... btw, my resume has been 3 pages longgg!11111

copied this off another forum:)

I know a kid on CC who had an activity list of like 4 or 5 pages.....he got rejected.

Being longwinded doesnt impress adcoms, nor does it enhance any kind of presentation for that matter.

Put only your primary actitivities (hopefully those are the ones youve obtained leadership positions, 2 or 3 main activities with substantial involvement is more than enough). My advice is to present your list in a light in which your passion to your EC's shines.

Colleges aren't impressed by grade/club grubbers who list every single organization that they are a part of.

When you actually write, remove superfluous phrases that dont add anything to the main aspects of the club or your involvement to it. Dont overuse adjectives when theyre not necessary. Keep everything short and to the point.

WHEN YOU TITLE YOUR SHEET, DONT PUT "RESUME" ON TOP, PUT "ACTIVITY LIST" cause youre 17,18 and are too young to have a real resume.

If youre looking for books to read on this stuff, Id recommend Hernandez's "Acing the application Essay" and for essays, Harry Bauld's "On Writing the College application essay"
