How do I write my resume?

For the Florida State application it says it is recommended (have to do it) to fill out a resume. Should I write it like a short essay or list my extracurriculars, volunteering, talents, etc.? Please help!

A resume is not an essay. You would format it with different sections, and usually have bullet points under each section. Like you mention, you can have EC’s, Volunteering, Jobs, Sports, Awards…

There is a short article on the CC main site
[College Admissions High School Resume - college-admissions - College Confidential](http://www.collegeconfidential.com/college_admissions/high_school_resume.htm)

You can look up resume examples or templates on the internet. Two key things to note: only list important stuff (relevant skills, past employment, education, etc., not clubs you participated in middle school), and make sure your formatting is flawless. I used a LaTeX template to build my resume, which makes it look very clean and easy to read.

ABSOLUTELY a HS student’s resume should not be longer than one page. If your bullet points take up that much room, then you’ve demonstrated that you can’t edit.
