How do they contact for interviews, how is it set up, and how will I know if I can get one?

Has anybody been interviewed yet?

Is there any way I can get one?

i got an email from my interviewer and then called him to set it up

My interviewer called me and then we set up a date. The interview in itself was pretty laid back. I want to go into medicine and my interviewer was a doctor so we had a lot to talk about. It lasted approximately 40 minutes which is between the usual 30 minutes to 1 hour time frame

How long after you got your portal were you contacted?

When do the interviews last until?? I know some schools want everything by february, etc.

how are the penn interview questions? are they serious/casual, talking about your interests, strengths weakness, etc?

and if i live in an inactive committee (as its demarcated on the penn admissions website), i should not expect to be contacted for an interview, correct?

yes tricky, if there are no alums around then you cannot be interviewed

My Intereviewer called my house and we set up the time, place, and date. My interviews this Wednesday, but i’m not worried, my interviewer sounds very friendly and casual so I expect the interview to be the same.

i just had my interview. For its set up, he emailed me and then I called him to set it up. The actual interview was very laidback, I went to his house and although he asked me the standard ?s- why penn, why this major, why medicine, what ecs you do, it turned out to be more of a conversation about myself than a true interview. It lasted an hour and it was enjoyable.

I had my interview today. My interviewer emailed me earlier this week and we set up the date and time.

What kind of q’s are asked during these interviews? I have one later today and I’m kind of nervous.

Should I send a letter to the secondary school committee in my area saying im interested in an interview or would that come off as desperate?

My daughter had her interview today- she was contacted via phone last week in order to schedule it. She thought that it went great. It lasted about an hour.

so is there really nothing i can do to get an interview other than sit and pray i get contacted?

I have a quick question. My interviewer e-mailed me and said he can do the interview on either Feb.3 or Feb.10 at his office. It’s about 3-4 hours away from where I live. Does it make a bad impression or affect my application chances if I reply I couldn’t go or ask for a phone interview.

That’s ridiculous. 3-4 hours away on a weekday?? I would write back and say that seems difficult on a weekday, don’t you think? Can we arrange something or some time more amenable?

Then when he says no, decline.

just had my interview the interviewer was really nice and we got along well - he called me yesterday to have my interview today - yeah a little last minute - the interview took place at his house (in his gorgeous living room with a beautiful art collection) and he went to the same high school as me so it as really cool :)

dang… haha i m kinda nervous (even though I had my harvard interview today… which went really really well though). Gud luck guys Let’s do this!

How does it generally go? Do you receive an email then call, or do they call you straight?

Are interviews only for ED applicants or are they offered for RD applicants as well? I’m an international RD applicant and I haven’t got anything yet!

(I’m a RD applicant). I got an e-mail and then called. Monday at Starbucks! And I’m insanely nervous lol
