I heard Ivies don’t use the school’s calculated GPA and calculate a GPA of their own. Will a lot of A-s bring my unweighted GPA down or is that just a myth?
Well, a lot of A-'s will bring your GPA closer to a 3.7 than a 4.0. As to how they calculate your GPA, they’re not telling. If they recalculate, my guess is that they do it according to how they calculate college GPA’s. Alternatively, they may just take the UW GPA as listed on your transcript.
