I’ve heard way too many students say that ME students at UT Austin get internships through family friends. Please let me know what the “norm” is there. Do they typically get internships from the career fair, the alumni network, or by knowing someone?
My son received ME internships through connections he made at the engineering career fair. Plan to attend the first career fair in September so you can get an idea how it works, what the students wear, etc. Take the opportunity to observe so you can use what you learn to be prepared for future career fairs. Fall Expo is scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday, September 7 and 8, 2016.
