How do med schools (esp. the top ones) look at Electrical Engineering majors?

<p>yea so how do med-schools look at Engineering majors applying for admissions to Harvard or Johns Hopkins or other top med-schools? </p>

<p>Like say I did either Electrical Engineering or even BME at JHU undergrad, and assuming that I got a good GPA, MCAT, etc. Will med-schools somehow look down upon me because I got an Electrical Engineering undergrad (esp. EE since at least BME is kind of related?)</p>

<p>I want to know this esp. for schools like JHU, Harvard, Columbia, Penn, etc....</p>

<p>Should I just be safe and do BME (I know JHU BME is #1, so don't bring that up, please!)? Or will following my interest in exploring EE come back to bite me? </p>

<p>Every single medical school thinks EE majors are dorks and will be horrible doctors. You’ll really screw the pooch if you go that direction…</p>

I went ahead and put in a blank space so that this statement applies to any major. Fill in the blank with BME or every other major you’re thinking of, and see what med schools think of it! We should thank BRM for this handy tool.</p>
