Yes, I’m starting another one of these posts. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

If background has any significance, I come from an economically disadvantaged family (single income, no child support, etc). I am a gifted writer (though it may not be reflected in my SAT writing score), evidenced in my college essays (my counselor says they’re brilliant).
Also, if anyone knows anything about CTY, do you think it would mean anything to the admissions people over at Brown?
THANKS!

If you’re non-asian non-indian and your essays are good (feel free to ask me for critiques), you have a moderate chance.

If you’re asian/indian you have an abysmal chance (sorry but weak SAT I, very weak rank).

Regardless!-- Judging by your SAT II scores you seem like you’re going to major in some social science or humanity, so Brown would probably be a good fit for you. I think the $80 application fee is a relatively small gamble for such a potentially great reward.

Firstly, thank you for the feedback. It is greatly appreciated.
I’m white, so this is good to hear. I’m putting some finishing touches on the essays, but I may forward them for critique. Thank you again for the response :)

If you are low income, get a waiver for the application fee. Then it’s free.

And your SAT CR score is amazingly good, no matter what color, race or creed you are.

Thanks for both the reply and the praise I don’t think the application fee is going to be a big deal, so I’m not going to go through the rigmarole of getting it waived and whatnot.
I’m hoping I can make myself stand out with my talent in English, so here’s hoping for that.
