How do my chances look?

Hi, I’ve been a long time lurker, but never really posted anything before.
PLEASE IF YOU ARE GOING TO SAY SOMETHING, MAKE SURE THAT YOU’VE READ THROUGH THE WHOLE THING.

I go to a magnet high school that “is considered an “elite” high school by U.S. News & World Report, and often considered among the best high schools in the country.Business Week cites _ _ _ as New Jersey’s best high school.” It does send A LOT of kids of “tier 1” schools. I’m in this “academy for business” but I’m going for a Premed (though in colleges without a dedicated premed major, I’ll most likely go for a bio or music major)

I’m an Asian male.

so here’s a BASIC list of my “specs”
freshman - 3.39
sophomore - 3.19
junior - 3.62

SAT - 2310 (Math 800, Reading 740, Writing 770 essay 10)
ACT - 34
SAT II
-Bio 750
-Math2c 780
-Lit 700 (retaking)
-Physics 760
-Chem 770
-World history 680 (fail…sigh)

I’m in an IB diploma program, so ALL of my courses Junior and Senior year are IB. I did take 4 APs.
AP AB Calc 4
AP Lit 3
AP US history 3
AP Micro econ 4

RESEARCH
I’m currently working on a bio research project. Basically it’s the effectiveness of creating hepatocytes differentiated from induced Pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) reprogrammed from hepatocytes compared to the effectiveness hepatocytes differentiated from iPSCs reprogrammed from fibroblasts.
My school IS special in that it does let us work on research projects BY OURSELVES WITH LITTLE TO NO HELP from anybody else.

Business
Started up a tennis racquet stringing company. Still going strong. Making a fair amount.
Also, I sell my lyrics online and produce for certain local artists.

-Smile Train (founder and president)
-DECA (two years state)

I think that’s the GENERAL look of things… It’s not very complete, but y’all can get the general feel of things.

I think you have a pretty good chance, however, I’m surprised with your AP scores. When I saw your SAT/ACT scores I expected the majority to be 5’s.

I don’t think Brown would accept you with those grades. Especially since you’re an Asian male going into a science-y area. Your SATs are great, and your ECs are lukewarm. I think you should look into somewhere else–Cornell, perhaps?

The excuse for the APs is that I was very sick (some great timing…) those two weeks to the point where I was hallucinating.
and Cornell isn’t exactly one of my favorite schools…

These ECs are mediocre?! This guy does research, has a business etc. etc. This is making me very worried for my chances anywhere now!

^ Ditto, in my opinion, your ECs are pretty strong. I don’t know what ECs are qualified to get one accepted to Brown, but I’d say that the research and business along with those other activities makes you strong EC wise. And your SAT score isn’t so bad either, so I’m suspecting that since you go to a competitive magnet school you’re school doesn’t give As easily.

It does involve a bit of hard work to get A’s, but the fact that my junior year grades were better does give evidence to the fact that I simply did not try as hard in freshman and sophomore year. yea.

Please, God, no more.

Please, God, no more ignorant idiots.
