how do my stats compare to accepted UPenn students?

SAT 1- 1430/2140

ACT- 34 (36 S, 33 W, 33 R, 34 M)

APs

Physics B = 5
USH = 4
Lang and Comp = 5
Chem = 4

SAT 2s (my weakpoint/ retaking nov and dec)

730 USH
690 math 1
660 physics (***)

BTW I will be applying to the college of arts and sciences

hopefully majoring in philosophy, economics and political science on path to law school

all tests have been taken only once so far

bump that ass

I think people would have a better idea if you added your uw GPA/rank, ECs, etc.

Sats: Avg
SAT II: Below Avg
AP: Avg

i'm sure your sat score 1430/2140 is somewhat better than an average but you sure do need to have very good essays, gpas, teacher recs and so on to increase your chances of being accepted to upenn.

The reason I didnt post GPA and EC's is because I feel rather confident that they are average of above average.

I am a nationally ranked LD debater, who has qualified to the Tournament of champions, gotten a bunch of Round robin invites, late elimination rounds at various top level tourneys etc.

I was 3rd at the UConn regional science bowl tournament

I have some other academic awards as well that are actually notable

My concern was that my stats may buffer an otherwise good application, and thus wanted insight from penn students/ other CCers.

BTW doesnt my ACT kind of buffer my poor SAT 2 scores? I will be reatking them regardless.

well the fact that you are a master debater changes everything!

bump 10 char...

Ummm I hope you know that you can send your ACT in lieu of ALL SAT's.. even your II's.. at least that's what it was like last year.
Send the 34 and don't even bother showing them your SAT I and II's.

SAT: (slightly) below average
SAT 2: below average
AP: average
ACT: above average

I think I can send ACT instead of all CB tests. However, will it somehow hurt me in the admissions process if I merely show ACT, AP tests, good GPA and very very strong EC's?

bump...............................

It wont hurt you. Youre ACT is good. Don't even bother sending the SATIIs unless you improve them greatly.

dlesk- lololololololol

ACT - Good work, don't send in your SAT, unless you take it again
SAT 2 - aim for above 700

Penn suggests sending an SAT II score depending on the school you go to... I could have sworn I saw something about them wanting a Language SAT II from CAS Applicants (but not required) and a Math II from Wharton Applicants, among others. Not sure but for some reason this idea stuck in my mind.

Python167- I think that might be for huntsman program. not sure though

send the ACT scores but still keep trying on the SAT.

use your own judgemnt, just apply. you don't need the approval of anyone here.
the first and only time i ever posted my stats, people shot me down and said i was too "affluent" and had no chance at top ivies. they were all wrong.
