How do people get less than As in Gym?

Our school just started written PE exams this year. WORST IDEA EVER. If you don’t dress, you get 5 points off per day after a freebie, so B’s can pile up upon some students pretty quickly.

-------------------------------------------If it is to be, it is up to me…

Seriously? Is it only my school that used to give “PE assessments”? (Well, up until grade 10 anyway, when we are deemed to have more important things to focus on… like applying to college) Reports and essays… ■■■

^ Most schools don’t require PE after 9th grade. Mine [and all in Illinois] require 2 years. I don’t get the point of having paper assessments and paper reports? Uhm that’s called “Health” and its different than “Gym”. Seems like America will continue to be fat if you can get an A in gym with tests.

My school requires 1 semester of Health, 1 semester of P.E. in 9th and 1 full year in 10th grade of P.E.

Sucks balls.

I ended up getting pneumonia and strep throat (so I missed eight days of school) and my teacher told me not to worry and that I didn’t have to make it up – I would have an A. But then I ended up with a 93.9, when an A would be 94.

my school gives a final exam for gym. If you can’t run faster, do more push ups and longer wall sits, etc than you did at the beginning of the term you fail the final exam which is 20 % of your grade. Which would make sense if gym class actually involved physical activity. All we do is play dodgeball.

Because D*ck-wad teachers grade you based on if you can run a mile with an “A” being 6-7 minutes. Keep in mind, I also live in 100+ degree dry weather sometimes.

As for failing Gym, that’s usually the people who don’t do that work (yes I know there are exceptions)

Wait, my school’s in Illinois, and I thought the requirements were
3.5 credits of gym and 0.5 credits of health. I’ll have to google that, but that what my school requires.

EDIT- I googled the requirements and any public school student in illinois should be having PE daily (or a year’s worth if on a block schedule). However, school boards can make exemptions for eleventh and twelfth graders for specific reasons.

-------------------------------------------If it is to be, it is up to me…

The only C I have on my transcript is from freshman gym because I’m awful at volleyball, and softball, and basketball, AND walking.

I got an A+ in PE, I loved that class it was soo fun

we had like 10 types of gym classes at my high school :)

if you don’t show up, or try, you aren’t getting an A. And I’m glad because the people who just show up and putter around kind of ruin things for everyone else.

But I loved gym, we actually worked out
