I'm applying to a lot of schools with rolling admissions, so I want to apply late summer to early fall.
Do I need to ask my teacher's for recommendations before the year is over?
Do these teachers send my recommendations to my counselor, the universities, me etc?
Do I ever get to see the recommendation?
How do I ask my teachers for recommendations?
(I don't really have any teachers I was really close with but I think I know a few that liked me because I worked hard.)
Do I need a separate recommendation for each school if they're not on the common app?
Someone explain this whole process to me!

Do I need to ask my teacher’s for recommendations before the year is over?

If you’re applying late summer, of course. And time is running out, no?

Do these teachers send my recommendations to my counselor, the universities, me etc? Not usually (although some HS do it that way). Usually, you get the teacher to send a photocopy of the rec directly to the college. Some teachers will give you several copies and ask you to mail it for them.

Do I ever get to see the recommendation? Colleges will ask if you wish to sign a waiver. If you sign it, the college won’t let you see it. But you can always ask the teacher – but he/she doesn’t have to let you see it either.

How do I ask my teachers for recommendations? *There’s a sticky thread about this above. Basically, ask a teacher who knows you well and see if he/she feels they can write a positive rec letter for you. *
