How do revisit days work?

Ah yes. My nephew was "boxing" in his smallish dorm room with another guy (with gloves but no protective headgear), lost his balance and footing, and fell back, cracking his head on the corner of the dresser, blacked out and got a concussion. As my sister (his mom) was in the airport heading up to the hospital where her son lay on a bed, we cheered ourselves up by singing "Kung Fu Fighting". Wouldn't something like that be a great thing to happen on a kid's revisit?

I visited his dorm room at graduation, and my gag reflex was fully on alert. It was truly one of the most disgusting things - his dorm hall - I had ever seen in the developed world.

Since I would love to think my S was admitted to SPS, we will do whatever it takes to participate in the full revisit experience. What are your favorite places to stay in Concord? Just how close is the city? We would probably prefer someplace close to campus...or does the campus just seem really rural and is actually quite close to downtown?

The school is very close to downtown. It may seem rural, but it's maybe 3 miles down the road from the Main Street in Concord. I will PM the hotel I like - I could tell the whole board, but then I'd have to kill everyone. Teehee, just kidding. But it's already hard enough to get reservations when I want then!

At the risk of divulging MTAU's "secret hideaway" -- and with a concomitant possibility of drawing people away from such place -- I found the Holiday Inn in downtown Concord, NH to be just fine. No surprises and all that. It's a little more upscale than many Holiday Inns, but priced reasonably like a Holiday Inn.

Thank you for all the SPS information. I will surely have more questions if my S is lucky enough to be accepted on 10 March. This is our first time going through the application process - this board has proven to be quite a useful resource.
