How do SAT IIs factor in admissions?

I took the SAT subject tests in June, almost immediately after my IB exams, and basically bombed all three subject tests. My physics was the lowest (620), but I scored 6/7 on the IB physics exam. I've retaken the SAT Physics in November, but I don't think it hepled (if anything, it was worse this time).

Does the admissions committee only look at the highest two subject test scores, overall? (i.e., if I did better in Literature and US History, will they disregard Physics and Math?) Can a low sat physics score be offset by a high(er) IB physics score?

Or is this the end?

Harvard requires three subject tests. So they'll use your three highest scores.
I can't really answer your other questions, as I'm just an applicant myself. But
check out [thread=259690]this[/thread] thread... it contains some pertinent SAT II stuff.
