How do the Ivy Leagues factor in IB scores?

Do Ivy Leagues require you to get a certain score on IB exams? I got a 5 on IB Environmental Systems and Societies SL. Do colleges use IB exam scores in factoring in whether or not you get admitted (i have 6 more IB exams next year, i only had 1 this year but by the time i take those IB exams I will already know where i am admitted)?

IB scores are only factored for credit after you have been accepted. IB classes, on the other hand, determine your course rigor and are factored into the admissions process.

Following what the admissions lady said at Princeton, to be “in” the competition, you have to have 6 or 7 on your HLs. She did not say anything about SLs (because I guess they do not really care about them), but still, I would think a global mark of 36 would be the minimum, probably. I mean, you still can apply with a 30, but unless you have a huge hook… you know.

This might only concern Princeton, but it makes a lot of sense so I guess its the same for other ivies.

About the factoring of grades, they take your predicted grades into account for your app. If you already have one exam done, then its great, thats one solid mark at least. Each school predicts grade in a different way, usually its done by your teachers.

They know the stats for your schools predicting, ie they know if your school predicts well or not. Mine has a very high accuracy, so then HYPS and others know about that and know that the chances to have a predicted of 45 and a 38 as a result is very, very slim (and the other way around, too). And also, for example, I will have English A2 HL, and for that they never predict more than 6 (because we are all native French speakers). So thats already one HL with a 6 and not a 7  ahahah

The “grades” part of your app has the “same” weight as the SAT, as the essays, as the recs, as the ECs, etc. They call that their “holistic” approach. Is it really like that? I don’t have a clue :P

Im international btw

@Raffiki
What are you predicted grades in total? Out of 45?
Where are you/have applied with those grades?

sorry, just curious:)

Got 42,
French A1 HL 7,
English A2 HL 6, (1 student ever got a 7 there, one out of 14 classes of around 65 people ahah)
Philo HL 6 (I’m pretty sure I’ll get a 7 though… anyway),
Spanish B 7 (already done it),
Environmental Syst. and societies SL 7,
Math SL 7

+3 points for TOK and EE (A and B respectively)

I’m from Canada (Quebec prov.)

Will apply to HYP and Stanford. There is one other guy applying at my school with a 43. Even if school does not rank, I believe that according to predicted grades, I must be around 4/65. We have two geniuses who will probably get a 45 when “normal” predicted grades go out in Feb. (I got them early because I’m applying to US)

Are you doing the IB too?

Are you taking AP exams, if you are doing a full IB diploma?

So if you only have 2 standard level exams so far, taken in junior year, you are pretty much required to send those? Also, how do you send them?
