I'm sorry for asking this stupid question, though, I am the first in my family to plan on attending a four year college - cut me some slack! :) I'm planning on applying to the Ivies, namely, Yale SCEA. I also want to apply to "safeties" like Bradley, Mizzou, etc. etc. Can I still submit my applications as early as possible as long as I don't indicate ED/SCEA on those applications? I want to get acceptance into my safeties as early as possible so that I can lessen the stress of senior year. Sorry again if this seems like a stupid question.

SCEA/ED only affect when you receive your decision, not when you can apply. You can apply RD whenever you want, as long as it’s not like a year ahead of time. However, unless these schools offer rolling admissions, you likely won’t receive a decision until April even if you apply early. Though colleges differ in this regard.

Thank you!

The difference between SCEA and ED is if you were accepted ED you would have to withdraw all other RD applications, whereas you wouldn’t have to with SCEA.
