how do u increase sentence completion accuracy?

how does just doing practice tests help your sentence completion questions? you either know the words or dont....

So you learn more words. :)

If you have time, the best way to learn more words so that they really stick is to read a lot. One trick that I learned when I lived in Germany was to look up words and put a dot next to them in the dictionary. Any word I looked up three times, I made an effort to learn, but mostly I found that words I looked up would magically appear in other reading material two or three times in the following week.

Sentence completion isn’t strictly a vocab test, it’s also a part of the skill known as “critical reading”. You do need to pay attention to context, and sometimes it can be tricky. Most SC’s are straightforward, but usually there’s a couple of sneaky ones in every test.

If it were a straight vocab test, you wouldn’t even need a sentence, you’d just be asked to match up words and definitions.

this is true, thetestwizard, but having a good vocabulary is also a TREMENDOUS part of it.

Right, especially as far as saving time for passage-based questions are concerned

Study vocab words. Trust me. Really helps.
