Well everyone in CC says that they self study for APs and get 5s and get like 800 on SAT II. My school offers like 15 AP classes so almost no one takes APs online.. By self studying do u mean that you take online classes?? Isnt that much harder than taking a real class tho? Im soo confused someone please explain to me :/

We get a textbook, the correct one for APs of course, and a few prep books and read them.

I get the Prep book (preferably Barron’s) and basically outline the entire thing by hand. Then like the week before, I type the whole thing up. And then I study from that for that week.

It’s time consuming, but the repetition really helps me remember

I study. By myself. Hence the name “self study”.

But dont the colleges know that u procrastinate for these tests? No offense but if u try to learn everything in a week ur not gonna know as much as those people that actually learned the course… Dont the colleges know this?? Im just curious

No, you ass. I don’t procrastinate.

Throughout the year, I write up the chapter that we’re working on at the time so that I have a full understanding of it. And then the week or two before while all our teachers are having us take practice tests, I type it up and therefore refresh my memory of all the work.

I’m sorry, maybe the 4 on my AP Psych exam was just an accident. I mean, I took the class over the summer online and it’s difficult to retain that much information for 9 months, so maybe I just got lucky.

Wow…did you really just say that? You don’t procrastinate for these tests. Most of the time, people only self-study if they were unable to take the AP class. My friend is going to sit in for AP Psych because there wasn’t enough room in his schedule for the class. My one friend is taking regular Environmental Science since our school doesn’t offer APES, but she’s sitting in for the exam anyway. Another friend of mine goes to a school where the classes aren’t designated as “AP” even though they are (i.e. “English III” is considered AP English Language, and all of the students are expected to take the AP exam in May)

And just because you learned the information in one week instead of one year doesn’t mean that you didn’t learn it. Your score indicates how much you learned. A self-studier who got a 4 on the exam obviously knows the material better than someone who took the class and only got a 2.

Colleges would never suspect that you were procrastinating and taking the easy way out unless you had an EXTREME situation, like if you took eight regular-level classes when your school offered them as AP-levels but still sat in for all eight of those exams.

Also, your lack of punctuation and your spelling of “you” as “u” make it harder for me to take you seriously. Just saying.

Woah woah people chill out. Geez
IM SOOOO SORRY THAT I DONT KNOW THESE STUFF BECAUSE MY SCHOOL PROVIDES AP CLASSES FOR EVERY SUBJECT MENTIONED HERE. my school doesnt allow self studying for APs that are already available in our school and since my school offers every APs (i just found out few minutes ago) we’re not allowed in any way. IM VERY SORRY MY SCHOOL DOESNT LET ANY SELF STUDYING SO I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT
