I know most UC's say they let applicants know on line from mid March (for some) to 3/29/12 for Berkeley. But what actually happens, do they start posting in the mornings, at midnight? Do they post for successful and unsuccessful applicants altogether? Your 2011 acceptance and rejection experience stories would be much appreciated. Thx.

It depends on the school and they do it differently every year, sometimes it’s 5pm, 12pm, 12am. They’ll normally send you an email as soon as a decision, or “change” as they like to say, has been posted. Although, I’ve know friends who have just checked every night at midnight and have seen their decision before they received an email. Almost all the schools, except for Berkeley and LA, will release decisions in batches every few days or week or so. They’re random but from what I’ve seen it’s mostly acceptances in the first few batches and more rejections towards the end (but still some acceptances). You can look through the past acceptance threads and see exactly when they released decisions. Although, I’d try and focus on your last semester and try and get UC’s off you mind for a bit, if that is at all possible. : )
