How do you find out which textbooks to get for what class? How far in advance to you find out? Should I wait until the first day of classes or is it somewhere I haven't looked?

Here how you can find out

Go to Wolverine Access

Click on Students

Click on Student Business

Click on Student Center

Under the Academics section, scroll down and select textbooks and click on the double arrow button next to the scroll down bar

I recommend that you wait until the first day of classes to get a textbook. In some cases, the instructor will state the textbook is not mandatory or that there are other editions you can use.

Thank you so much for all your help!

Make sure you look around at potential buying options before then and bookmark them, but I agree you should wait until day one of classes before making any final purchasing decisions. Also, there are always students looking to sell their books, but on some occasions you can even find them on some sites at cheaper than what other students will ask. Just don’t ever buy from Ulrich’s unless you absolutely cannot find them anywhere else for cheaper. Or unless you don’t care about spending double the amount on a textbook that you have to.

Are there any websites you would suggest?

Textbooks.com
half.com
facebook pages for Michigan

Amazon.com is a good site as well.

There’s also a Student Book Exchange at the end of the first week of classes if you don’t care about winging it for a few classes. You can get any book for large freshmen classes there, guaranteed.

I like chegg.com

Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions!
