Has anyone been given their account to check their application status and (eventually) application decision online? I submitted my application four weeks ago and have not heard anything back yet...has anyone else? and if so how long did it take?

I received an email on the 7th containing my username and password.

i submitted everything october 15 and have yet to get an email. seems like it’s taking kind of a long time.

yeah exactly…and I’m pretty sure they’ve gotten all my stuff because everything has been downloaded off of the CommonApp website and none of my recs have been sent back in the mail or anything. Also an alum interviewed me last weekend, but I just wish I would get an official email from the school

Haha the e-mail from the school takes quite a long time, but I wouldn’t stress about it. If you applied ED and haven’t gotten one by December or so, it might be worth a call to the school.

Frankly, you’re better off calling now. There may not be anything wrong of course. But if it does turn out to be a problem on the scale of “The school did not receive your application materials” for whatever reason, if you don’t get it sorted out until December it’ll be too late because they will have made their decisions at that point. If you call now and there is a serious problem like that, you may still have a chance to fix the situation, by re-sending the materials or whatever.

You should expect your login and password sometime around now. Admissions says to wait until the end of the month before calling and keep in mind it takes a while for the email to go out. The typical reason for not receiving an email is that the supplied email address is wrong and not that anything is missing. (When something is missing, they will call/ contact you in time)

^ I received the email with the login and password details. I didn’t get any interview call. Should I be concerned?

Typically they will contact you by around now. But remember that, while interviews are encouraged, they aren’t required and sometimes there just aren’t enough nearby alumni to interview everyone.

While it is great to have the chance to chat with an alumni, the lack of an interview won’t affect your chances at admissions.

(Also remember that Admissions is dealing with a ton of paperwork, so it might just be a slight delay but don’t worry if you don’t get a chance to interview)

Thanks for your detailed reply. It’s reassuring to hear it from a Dartmouth student.

No problem. Check out the facebook group we have: [Discover Dartmouth | Facebook](<a href=“Facebook Public Group | Facebook”>Facebook Public Group | Facebook)

It is filled by other students to answer questions. Also when you ask questions we don’t know, we can nag admissions and get answers quicker than you can.

BTW: I should note that while we work with admissions, we are all volunteers.

yeah im calling tomorrow…i think they have all of my stuff but i’ll just double check…thanks everyone!
