How do we submit current grades?

DD is nearing the close of a term (1/27) and several of the school’s online application checklists are looking for current grades yet Gateway to Prep does not accommodate sending another set of grades. Does anyone know how to do this other than contacting each school individually. Also, does that then mean another round of requests, this time having the school send multiple letters/emails?

From what I remember last year, transcripts with mid year grades need to be sent from the school, not the Gateway Portal. I emailed person responsible for transcripts at DD’s current school with a list of admissions email addresses to send when report cards were issued and transcript grades were updated. Current school just emailed transcript to BS as an attachment.

the “school report” on Gateway should be provided/uploaded directly from your school. Grades are inclusive in this report. I believe the schools receive a prompt similar to this: https://www.gatewaytoprepschools.com/documents/school-report.pdf

Yes @mathmusicmadness but because term two doesn’t end until after the admission deadline, current grades (term two) must be submitted.

ah, sorry @MAandMEmom …some schools will accept them by email but as far as I know they need to come from school (to guarantee that no doctoring of grades happens along the way)

What TheStig2 said.
I gave a list of emails, admission@yourschool.org, etc to the Conselor and she emailed PDF transcripts to each school as attachments, long after the original application was completed.

Thank you all for your speedy responses. I want to be prompt so the file will be complete but feel a bit apprehensive about asking for “more” from the school so soon after the last ask.

Some schools only want first term and prior two years.

I emailed an updated middle school transcript reflecting daughter’s Fall semester grades from her concurrent enrollments classes. All boarding schools accepted it with emails from me. Some schools first replied that it has to directly come from daughter’s current school, but were satisfied when I explained that I am also the principal of her homeschool.

@MAandMEmom I know how you feel and I remember thinking that I had become “that nightmare parent”, but it is not a whole lot of extra work for the school (as opposed to the recommendations). Like I said, I emailed current school with list of ALL the schools to send to so it wasn’t coming in piecemeal. Also, the school your DD decides to attend (after choosing among her many acceptances  ) will want a final grade report at year end.

Exactly! After all is said and done, you get to visit the Counselor one more time for the final grade at year end to send to the school DS/DD will matriculate. The school will send a request form, so wait till you get the request in May. Ours was a High School Counselor so she did not mind it at all as her job was to handle college applications.
We also signed a “Withdrawal/non-continuation” form so that the school can fill DS’s spot at that time.

How do you find out which schools want current (midterm) grades and which don’t, short of calling or emailing each school’s AO? Or do you just wait for them to request additional grades?

@GoatMama, I sent it to all schools, but didn’t try to solicit a response since I figured that they will be very busy now.

Goatmama: do not call or ask. If they ask you facilitate. Many schools don’t want these. We were surprised but they don’t . We asked why. They ask for first term of current grade and two years prior for a reason That’s enough plus SSAT and recs…I wouldn’t volunteer more. If asked of course then do it.

Never Again Volunteer Yourself; give only what they are asking about; nothing more in the case of school requests;-)

Several of them have an online checklist and it shows as missing. I will probably just do them all for term two as I can just ask once and won’t have to go back again in February when a few more ask for them.

Oh absolutely…if it is on the checklist …but if not, don’t.
