how do white girls feel about asian guys?

damnnnn computer!!!

k&s said:
"Most white girls THINK they don’t like Asian guys (or rather, they don’t even think of it) due to stereotypical media images and the fact that AMs in the media are rarely portrayed with females (this applies to AFs, as well as WFs or BFs)."

I have to agree with this. Anyone who's taken basic psychology knows that stereotypes affect us subconsciously on a HUGE level.

For example, consider this. black guys have suffered the most negative stereotypes for centuries. First, these stereotypes included them being stupid, ugly, lazy, savages, and just inferior beings. Then when 20th century comes, people invent films and television. These stereotypes are STILL shown on tv and films. Now, I wonder what white women thought of black men during 1940's, 1950's, 1960's? It's highly probable that most of them considered black men as poor, talk funny, uneducated, unattractive, etc. Just like k&s said, i'm pretty sure back in those days, white girls THOUGHT they didn't like black guys. They probably did not even think about it due to those stereotypical images.

It wasn't until about late 1970's and 1980's that black guys got positive images in the media. These days, now black guys have stereotypes like them having huge schlongs, athletic, macho, and the fact that emergence of hip hop culture made them "cool".....and now get this, Don't you think the number of white girls who like black guys have SIGNIFICANTLY increased, by a lot? I mean, black guys PHYSICALLY appears the SAME today as they did 30 or 40 years ago, but how come a lot of white women back then didn't find them attractive and now today a good amount of them find them attractive? I dont know about you guys, but I used to live in maryland and you see A LOT of black guys with white girls there....and i am thinking changing stereotypes play a role in this...

so my point is, stereotypes do matter. they serve as barriers and unconsciously affect people's perceptions. and they will take a long time until they gradually disappear. For the asian guys, they can either wait a long time until the stereotype goes away, which it probably won't, or they can start breaking them....and the best place to break stereotypes is in the MEDIA......but IRONICALLY most of asian guys won't be in that area of profession because they will rather be studying 24/7 and be doing pre-med, computer science, engineering......so i guess you guys are stuck being nerds forever

It ish pretty stoopid people here speaking for all white girls or all asian dudes. If you're hot, yay, if you're not, nay, doesn't matter what race. Yes race is a factor but in the end it's up to you and if the person you're chasing is ignorant then they were never worth the chase.

There is no such things as schlong stereoypes. Ethnic studies have proven and continue to prove true. It is just how the different races bodies are composed.

I read in a newspaper article once that polled different women. The studies found that women tend to like Italian guys the most (as in attractiveness) and that Japanese males are the least attractive.

I thought that was pretty interesting

i was never attracted to asian men until i saw shawn yue and edison chen.

there's so much to say about this topic!

i know some white women who are attracted to asian americans, but the asians they like are usually fit (not necessarily built, but not fat or scrawny) and do not fall under the stereotypes. sure they are smart too, but they arent geeks who play WoW all day...they have a life, they know how to talk and socialize. they are also pretty confident looking. it happens..but not too often.

^^^^ i don't normally pitch in on these dumb ass threads, but one stereotype some girls have is that they don't like how asian guys treat women...i suppose some women think they'll be too old fashioned/conservative or something

i dunno, i'm a hispanic male who's never had a problem dating. personally, i'm not a attracted to asian females (too small for me) although some asian chicks that are westernized are super hot.
i have hooked up with one asian chick, but she was a bi-o-tch.

"I read in a newspaper article once that polled different women. The studies found that women tend to like Italian guys the most (as in attractiveness) and that Japanese males are the least attractive."

Funny...Im a guy, and i often find myself attracted most to Japanese girls and italian girls.

lol this thread is hilarious

I know, and i love it.

dude i didnt mean for it to get this big LOL. I just came back for orientation was simply curious!

every race has good looking and ugly people. if your good looking and have confidence you'll get far. im asian and ive dated more white girls than asian girls in my life. i have very few asian friends i have mostly white/caucasian friends. other asians call me white washed and i party alot. it all depends on attitude and also how you portray yourself. i tend to like white girls because they are usually as wild as me. also if you are thinking of the stereotypical asian nerdy guy why would a white girl who is probably more social get with a quiet conservative stereotypical asian nerd? it all comes down to game. thats why you see ugly people with good looking people.

Another “banana” – lol!

Btw, I hope you don’t take the fact that you have few Asian friends or the fact that you’ve dated more white girls as something to be proud of.
And I hope you do know there are AFs as “wild as you” – you know, AF bananas.

20% of married asian males have white wives?
surprising.

That’s 20% of US born Asian males.

they don't differ in the aspect of going out with white girls, but looks are much different, and stereotypes are different.
As for girls and Indian guys, i think they might have it worst.
Asian guy with white girl is pretty uncommon, at least compared to white guy asian girl, but indian guy white girl is almost never.

[/quote]

Actually, that’s not true – the % of US-born desi males who are married to WFs is 20% – right on the average for US born Asian males (less than that for Koreans, Fils, etc. but more than that for Viets and other newer Asian immigrant groups).

Plus, Indian males aren’t nearly as prevalent or emasculated in the media – which is partly why Indians don’t really see a disparity in the IR rates for Indian males and females.

I am white and i think im going to have to agree. It seems that white guys (i am a guy too) are involved in many more interracial couples than guys of other races.
There definitely is no best, but we sure have it lucky.

That is true, but I just don't get why non-white guys think white women are the best. I mean, there are loads of non-white girls that are extremely good looking, so I don't get why Asian men especially worship white women as if they're goddesses or something. Yeah they are attractive, but as an Indian guy myself I don't find most of them datable material (too many differences in lifestyle, interests, and culture). Besides, like I said before, there are many non-white women that are pretty good looking.

Unfortunately, that’s what the media tells us (same thing with white guys). Otoh, I would say that the majority of AMs, BMs, non-white HMs actually prefer women from within their own race/cultural/ethnic background.

It tends to be primarily those who grew up in “white” suburbia that are unduly influenced – and even then, most have no problem dating attractive AFs, BFs and HFs, respectively, since there are portrayals of attractive AFs, BFs and HFs in the media (it’s more common for an AF to declare that she doesn’t date AMs rather than an AM to declare he doesn’t date AFs).

Probably more accurately – you never thought you would be attracted to Asian males until you actually saw attractive AMs in film/tv/music videos, etc. – you should look up Won Bin, Oh Ji-ho, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Kim Sung soo, etc.

Well then so much for that. Asian American males tend to not have the typical idiosyncrasies that characterize Asian immigrants or 'fobs'. Let's face it, 'fobs' are not exactly the most desirable boyfriends in the world to Americans in general. Even if some are physically attractive, the seemingly primitive level of discourse for some Asian immigrants make all of that a wash. Even Asians that immigrated a long while ago (at least 4 years) sometimes have not grasped completely the superficial teenage culture here in America. It can take some effort to "be an American," and childhood (in the right context) is always a good step to do that. I know Koreans who immigrated 9 years ago but are still, 'fobby' by nature (with the clothes, the attitude, the hairstyle, etc.). While I don't have any statistics with me, I highly suspect that a good portion of male Asian teenagers were indeed, Asian immigrants.

So actually, the statistics are worse than presented for Asian males overall. I would like to see some numbers for the % of Asian males in general married to Caucasian women in the U.S. But even then, 20% is still a relatively low percentage overall, but it still goes to show that people of a similar race tend to prefer each other.

no i dont take pride in it. ive just grew up in a enviroment that always had majority of white people and my group of friends was generally. ya ive met crazy AF like me but they are harder to find in a asian crowds. in my opinion.

The percentages for AMs overall is something like 3-4% (but remember, over half are foreign-born). In comparison, about 7% of married BMs are married to WFs.

It’s not just CCers but society in general.

When thinking of premium stereo sound – why does most of the public think of Bose (altho, most audiophiles would barf before owning anything by Bose)?

Copious amounts of advertising – Bose spends more on advertising than ALL of the other speaker manufacturers combined (this brainwashing starts young as evidenced by the recent study which showed that young kids thought that foods with McDonald’s wrapping tasted better).

The no.1 reason for steroid use among young males in the US is NOT for sports – but for purely visual reasons – to get the 6-packed abs and chiseled physique that have become commonplace in advertising (started by Calvin Klein over a decade ago).

bump. it deserves it

...and perfected by Abercrombie & Fitch.

Isn't it funny how Abercrombie & Fitch used to make really cool hunting and outdoorsy clothes, now all they do is make gay trendy clothes.
