If the only way somebody would be able to attend cmu was to get financial aid, would they have more of a chance of getting it (assuming they have good stats)?</p>
<p>If you search, you can find a bunch of threads about financial aid at cmu. You have more of a chance of getting aid if cmu really wants you (merit aid is possible, and since cmu doesn't guarantee meeting 100% of need to regular decision applicants, i imagine that the desirability of a student might impact his/her aid package). What matters is not how you perceive your financial situation, but how CMU perceives it.</p>
<p>They won't meet your need, if you're lucky you'll get like 70%. They do accept competing finaid information, and this can be used to get a re-appraisal. That is why applying to other business, engineering and other schools is so important, it is schools like those that will boost your packages, if you get in.</p>
