how do you avoid bladder problems during the SAT's?

I get this problem quite often during sat practice tests, like i have to use the bathroom half way through the 1 hour lengths... Although i think its cause i usually drink 1 full cup of coffee before taking the tests.

I heard coffee is a laxant (or whatever) that relaxes muscles, ie bladder. so is drinking a coffee before the test actually a bad idea?

Besides being a smooth muscle relaxant, it is also a diuretic. If you're going to drink before the test, try plain water and not a lot of it if you're having this difficulty.

Try to get enough sleep the night before the exam so that you don't feel you'll need the caffeine.

well if you drink coffee before every test, and you have to pee during every test, then (and i'm going out on a limb here...) putting two and two together, i would say stop drinking coffee right before. then again, i could be completely wrong. i mean, it's not like drinking fluids=having to use the bathroom. at all.

i had to take 10 minutes out of the critical reading section in march to literally run to the bathroom (it was on the other side of the high school).

How many bathroom breaks do you get during the SAT? I usually have to pee 2-3 times during practice tests.

dude, simple math. liquids=pee. dont drink, wont pee.

Dude, you need liquids to not get dehydrated.

I think it just varies for everyone. Do you go to the bathroom often during school? I try not to go to the bathroom during class because I might miss something in the lesson, so I guess I developed some type of tolerance for holding it in.

Yea I never go to the bathroom during school either.
